Tom Dixon creates a stunning new cocktail bar for the Pan Pacific Hotel.

The venue is split into a main bar and a private tasting room, on the thirds floor of an low rise building in Devonshire Row.

The minima palette of materials, colours and finishes provided a dramatic background for the lighting. Using a warm colour temperature of 2700K throughout, the lighting cohesively creates a soft and welcoming atmosphere in both spaces.

Tom Dixon's decorative luminaires play a key role, creating visual interest and defining the perimeter of the bar, which had large windows overlooking Liverpool Street Station.

The entrance reception features a light art wall with video mapping of slow moving clouds. The bar display, in black steel, glows warmly with discreet linear details carefully integrated into the structure. The reduced ceiling height of the room meant that there were limited options for incorporating recessed downlights thus a track solution was selected.
