The oldest continuing operating hotel in Los Angeles gets a new look throughout the historic lobby and restaurant areas. The curated interior style by Nickey Kehoe and Jeff Corney provide a new, fresh and sympathetic look to these spaces.
Light IQ collaborated with the design studios to integrate layers of soft and warm lighting into the interior areas. The historic lobby posed the most number of challenges; lack of daylight and a protected chandelier with no option for upgrade meant that low level lighting had to be introduce to provide a sense of scale and also boost the lighting levels.
The new Barish restaurant by Nancy Silverton features new custom decorative lighting that works very well with discreet linear details integrated into the furniture, as well as inconspicuous downlights to accent tables and furnishings.
