Light IQ designed the new lighting for leading contemporary art gallery Nahmad Projects in Cork Street, Mayfair, London.
The site was previously occupied by Helly Nahmad, older brother of Joseph, who took over the site to open Nahmad Projects. The venture focuses on emerging artists, as well as fine XX Century and contemporary works.
The brief to Light IQ was to upgrade the lighting installation with state-of-the-art LED technology and achieve uniform wall-washing on the display walls. After several mock ups and lighting demonstrations, Light IQ selected Erco as the ideal manufacturer for the lighting equipment that would be installed onto the track of the gallery.
Flexibility was key and therefore installation was designed to incorporate a mixture of wall-washers and spotlights. The displays at the gallery vary from large scale sculptural kinetic works to small light-sensitive oil paintings. Since the opening in the summer of 2016, Light IQ has been involved in the focusing and styling of the lighting for the exhibitions.
